Len vám je určený tento príbeh zrodu Miriny. Začal sa písať hlavne na cestách po Grécku a ostrovoch. Krása Grécka ma uchvátila natoľko, že mi vždy trvalo chvíľu, kým som sa doma spamätala z návratu. Kedykoľvek som mohla cestovať a ovplyvniť spolucestovateľov kam sa pôjde, vždy bolo mojou prvou voľbou.
Úlomky z tejto krajiny som po troške prenášala domov, či to bola magnetka, suvenír rôzneho druhu, vankúš, litre a litre olivového oleja, kilá korenín a olív a hlavne šaty. Aj napriek tomu, že som odlietala s poloprázdnym kufrom, pri návratoch som vždy bojovala s prekročením povolenej hmotnosti batožiny. Keď je najhoršie, v spomienkach to je prvé miesto, kam utečiem. Každý ostrov je tak iný, tak výnimočný, tak svojský, že celý život by nestačil na jeho objavovanie a pevnina, ktorej kráľujú samotné Atény, ničím za ostrovmi nezaostáva.
Keď už spomienky nestačili vykryť celý rok, úteky za slnkom a morom sa zintenzívňovali, šatník a poličky praskali vo švíkoch, prišla otázka: “Čo takto kus tej nádhery preniesť domov?" Ponúkať šaty, doplnky, ktoré sa predávajú aj celebritám na Mykonose, Rhodose, Kréte, Zakynthose, Korfu, Thassose, Kose, Kefalónii.. prinášať módu z metropolitných ulíc, samotného srdca Atén, Plaky sem k nám?
Už na škole ma uchvacovala veľkoleposť antického Grécka. Krása, sila a nebojácnosť žien a mužov zachytená v sochách a na obrazoch podčiarkovaná už len samotnými šatami a róbami ma fascinuje dodnes. Veď počas návštevy Akropoly v Atenách je najobdivuhodnejším architektonickým výtvorom Sieň panien. Sú to známe karyatídy, ženy stojace ako sochy, na hlavách ktorých spočíva strecha priečelia. Každá je iná. Sú oblečené v dlhých šatách, ktorých strih je dodnes poznávacím znamením gréckeho štýlu. Aj napriek tomu, že na podstavci stoja pevne, ich róby a účes im prepožičiavajú takú eleganciu a pôvad, akoby váhu strechy ani necítili. Tá ich sila je nesmierna a cítiť ju už z diaľky ako aj z celej krajiny.
A prečo Mirina?
V gréckej mytológií bola Myrina kráľovnou amazoniek, ktorá viedla antické vojenské výpravy. Amazonky boli zobrazované ako ženské bojovníčky a lovkyne, ktoré vynikali vo fyzickej obratnosti a sile. Boli výborné v lukostreľbe, jazde a bojových umeniach. Inšpiráciu som našla práve v nich, v amazónkach.
Od nápadu k realizácii chýbala už len taká “drobnosť”. Impulz. A ten prišiel v podobe hry osudu a možno aj spleti náhod. Nápad som predstavila kamarátke a jej to osud zariadil tak, že Mirina začala postupne ožívať aj v nej.
S rodinnými firmami sme nadviazali spoluprácu, pretože rodina v akejkoľvek forme a podobe je v Grécku silným putom. Do svojich firiem a továrni vkladajú svoje meno, históriu a život. Grécke rodiny s tradíciami siahajúcimi hlboko do minulosti sú základným kameňom každého odvetvia a samozrejme aj toho odevného. Existuje toľko rodín s krásnymi príbehmi, čo vkladajú do dizajnu svoje prvky a nápady, a ktoré sa rodia v malých továrničkach. Kraľuje im otec, možno starý otec, hybným motorom je matka, komunikáciu zastrešujú dcéry, vnučky a do procesu sú zapájaní ďaľši a ďalší členovia rodiny.
A takto vznikol koncept, prostredníctvom ktorého by som rada priniesla a predstavila viacero značiek, nielen jednu. Stretli sme sa so všetkými dôležitými ľuďmi osobne. Vieme odkiaľ je každý jeden kus oblečenia. Toto všetko a kus seba Mirina reprezentuje. Nech je symbolom rozhodnosti, vnútornej odvahy a sily rovnako ako tá grécka Myrina, kráľovná amazoniek. A tak sa to stalo.
Veď predsa: „Od toho, čo chceš ťa delí iba jedno rozhodnutie.“
Vaša Mirina
For you only is this story of Mirina´s birth: The very foundations of it were initially written while travelling in Greece and its islands. The beauty of Greece captivated me so much that it always took me a while to recover after returning home. Whenever I had a chance to travel and influence my fellow travelers about the destination, marvelous Greece was always my first choice.
Piece by piece, I carried fragments of this country home, whether it was a magnet, a souvenir of various kinds, a pillow, liters and liters of olive oil, kilos of spices and olives, and above all clothes. Despite the fact that I had flown out with a half-empty suitcase, I always struggled with exceeding the allowed baggage weight upon my returns.
And when life gives me lemons, Greece is my safe space I turn to in my thoughts at first. Each island is so different, so special, so peculiar that a lifetime would not be enough to discover them entirely, and the mainland, ruled by Athens itself, is not behind by a single piece. In time, as memories had not been enough to cover for me throughout the whole year anymore. My escapes to the sun and sea intensified, and as my wardrobe and shelves were bursting at the seams, the question arose: "How do I bring a piece of that beauty home?" How do I offer dresses and accessories that are also sold to celebrities in Mykonos, Rhodes, Crete, Zakynthos, Corfu, Thassos, Kos, Kefalonia... how do I bring fashion from the metropolitan streets, the very heart of Athens, Plaka here to us?
The magnificence of ancient Greece already enchanted me back at school. The beauty, strength and fearlessness of women and men depicted through ancient sculptures and paintings, underlined by the dresses and gowns themselves, haven't stopped fascinating me to this day. After all, the most significant architectural creation of Athens' Acropolis is the Hall of Virgins. They are famous Caryatids, women standing like statues, on whose heads rests the roof of the facade. Each one of them is different. They are veiled in long dresses, the cut of which is still a hallmark of the Greek style. Despite the fact that they stand firmly on the pedestal, their gowns and hairstyles give them such elegance and originality, as if they did not even feel the weight of the roof. Their power is immense and can be felt from afar.
And why Mirina?
In Greek mythology, Myrina was the queen of the Amazons who led ancient military expeditions. Amazons were depicted as female warriors and hunters excelling in physical agility and strength. They were outstanding in archery, riding and martial arts. I found inspiration in them, the Amazon women.
From idea to the implementation, there had been only a small step missing. An impulse. And it came in the form of a tangle of coincidences. I presented the idea to a friend, and fate arranged it for her in such a way that the spirit of Mirina gradually came to life in her as well.
Soon enough, we established cooperations with numerous Greek family businesses, as family in any shape and form in Greece is the strongest of bonds. They put their name, history and life into their companies and factories. Greek families with traditions reaching deep into the past are the cornerstone of every industry and of course the clothing industry as well. There are so many families with beautiful stories that put their elements and ideas into design born in small local factories. The father, maybe the grandfather, reigns over them while the mother is a driving force that moves them in desired directions. While daughters and granddaughters typically cover communication of these unique businesses. Involving other family members has literally no limits...
And thus, the Mirina concept, through which I would like to bring and introduce a whole portfolio of these treasure brands, was born. All of our deals come from personal onsite negotiations. Therefore, we know where every single piece of clothing is from and know their stories. May Mirina be a symbol of determination, inner courage and strength just like the queen of the Amazons.
